BEGINNER SWEDISH

Winter 2017: 

Tuesday, January 17 – May 3
Classes meet once per week on Tuesday evenings (twelve-week course)
Class Times: 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM 

Course Description:

Beginner Swedish is a course for those beginning their Swedish studies who have had little or no contact with the language. Emphasis is placed on all four skills: reading, writing, listening, speaking. The course will cover the first half of the textbook Mål 2 lärobok (Althén et al., 2013). 

Taught by Dr. Jay Lutz, Professor of French and Frances I. Eeraerts ’76 Professor of Foreign Language at Oglethorpe University. Jay has a PhD in French and Scandinavian literatures and was the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship to study at the University of Stockholm in Sweden.

This Swedish class will continue into fall semester 2017 with Swedish, Beyond Beginners and teaches both speaking and reading. It is the first in a sequence.
